Applications are invited for one or more three-year postdoctoral positions beginning July 1, 2025. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to both the research and teaching activities of the Department. Contributions to research include pursuing independent and/or collaborative projects and participating in seminars and other research activities of the Department. Teaching duties typically consist of teaching two one-semester courses per year. The combined annual salary for research and teaching is at least $57,000 CAN. The combined annual benefits for research travel and professional expenses is $2,000 per year. Employee benefits can be found in the PSAC 901 Collective Agreement. Postdoctoral fellows may choose to participate in the Queen’s Pension Plan in their third year of employment.
The candidate’s research should be in one of the existing areas of strength of the Department. In pure mathematics, these include algebraic geometry, number theory, representation theory, invariant theory, dynamical systems, free probability, partial differential equations, and mathematical physics. In statistics, these include biostatistics, optimal design, computer experiments, sequential analysis, shape-constrained inference, time series, and Bayesian analysis. In applied mathematics, these include information theory, coding theory, control theory, fluid mechanics, and mathematical biology.
