An opportunity for a graduate student (Master’s or PhD) to join the Biostatistics and Risk Modelling Division at Health Canada as a Research Assistant, starting January 2026.
Position Highlights:
* Start date: January 5, 2026
* Hours: Minimum 20 hours/week
* Duration: Minimum 3 months, up to 6 months
* Location: Ottawa (flexible/remote-friendly with occasional in-person meetings)
* Work with: Biostatistics and Risk Modelling Division, under the supervision of senior biostatisticians
Ideal candidate:
* Enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in statistics, biostatistics, data science, or a related quantitative field
* Strong background in statistical methods
* Proficient in Python (R or SAS an asset)
* Experience with Bayesian modelling, simulation studies, and reproducible workflows
* Strong communication and scientific writing skills
