The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Guelph invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow specializing in multivariate statistical methods. This role focuses on addressing the challenges of complex, heterogeneous data within the One Health framework.

The successful candidate will join the research group of Dr. Elif Acar, contributing to the development of advanced statistical frameworks and computational tools for analyzing high-dimensional biological and environmental data. The position will specifically focus on:

  • Development of multivariate models for mixed data types and dependence structures.
  • Integrative analysis of correlated phenotypes in studies of model organisms.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration in biological and environmental sciences.

Appointment Details

Duration 1 Year (Renewable based on performance)
Salary Minimum $55,000 / year + benefits
Start Date September 1, 2026 (Negotiable)

Qualifications

  • A PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field (completed by December 31, 2026).
  • A strong foundation in multivariate analysis and statistical computation.
  • Proficiency in software development in R/Python.
  • Experience with high-dimensional mixed data types or integrative methodologies is desirable.
