Dr. Lisa Strug is the Director of the Data Sciences Institute at the University of Toronto; a Senior Scientist in the Genetics and Genome Biology program at The Hospital for Sick Children; the Associate Director of The Centre for Applied Genomics; Professor of Statistical Sciences in the Faculty of Arts & Science and of Biostatistics at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto; and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Genome Data Sciences.
Dr. Strug's research program focuses on the development of novel statistical approaches to identify genetic contributors to human disease, with particular emphasis on tools tailored to the identification of modifier genes.
Dr. Rohan Alexander is an assistant professor at the University of Toronto in the Faculty of Information and the Department of Statistical Sciences; Senior fellow at Massey College; Faculty affiliate at the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society; and a co-lead of the DSI Thematic Program in Reproducibility.
The leadership structure of CANSSI Ontario comprises the Directors and a Provincial Advisory Committee. These bodies are supported by the CANSSI Ontario staff.
The Provincial Advisory Committee (PAC) is comprised of Statistical Scientists from CANSSI institutional members across the province, with expertise in data-intensive disciplines. The PAC oversees the CANSSI Ontario budget and provides oversight for province-wide programs and initiatives, helping CANSSI Ontario to promote and deliver collaborative programs in benefit of partner organizations.
