Trang Bui, PhD Candidate Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science,
On December 22, 2015, the United Nations General Assembly established February 11 as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science “to recognize the critical role women and girls play in science and technology.”
Today, on this special occasion of the 2023 International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we shine a spotlight on three exceptional PhD candidates from CANSSI Ontario Partner Universities who are pushing the boundaries of knowledge and making a positive impact on our world through their work in science.
From exceptional research in the analysis of physical and computer experiments, genetics and genomics, to innovative advancements in risk management, these women are at the forefront of their fields and serve as an inspiration to us all. They are proving that science is not just for one gender or one demographic, but for anyone passionate and dedicated to finding solutions to the complex challenges facing our world.
So, let’s take a moment to celebrate these amazing women in science and their contributions to our society. Their hard work and determination are shining examples of what can be achieved when we promote and support women and girls in STEM fields.
